On February 28th, AES Solar Founder and Chief Tech Aur Beck spoke at a press conference in support of the new Clean Energy Jobs Act that was recently introduce to Illinois legislature. This ambitious bill aims to source 45% of Illinois power from renewables by 2030, and eventually 100% by 2050.

As you may have heard, in March of last year AES Solar became a Union Electrical Contractor by joining the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). All of our installers are now also union members, and prospective new hires are required to join the union as well. We are thrilled to be a part of IBEW and believe it was an important step to take, both for our installers, customers, and for our company as a whole.

Illinois leaders from southern Illinois joined a coalition of local environmental, business and faith leaders today to press for bold clean energy legislation. The new bill would invigorate the state’s clean energy sector while ensuring that all communities join in the resulting economic gains.
