Southern Illinois is known throughout the Midwest for its breathtaking natural beauty, and nobody is more familiar with it than native son and AES Solar Lead Installer Seth Rose.

Originally from Carbondale, Seth spent his childhood exploring the numerous trails and winding corridors of Giant City State Park, and he still enjoys all of the hiking, canoeing, and camping that the region has to offer. Though he has lived several places in the area, he has always called Little Egypt home, thanks to outdoor recreation opportunities, family ties, and the laid-back pace and people. To put it simply, he just hasn’t found any other place worth leaving Southern Illinois for!

But for Seth, playing hard is only possible because he works hard as well. As Lead Installer, Seth loves the constant challenge of a job that is both physically demanding and intellectually stimulating. He finds solar installation in particular to be more personally rewarding than general contracting or other similar work. When you enjoy the outdoors as much as Seth does, it’s easy to see the appeal of a career that helps to keep our planet sustainable.

In addition to making an impact on the environment, Seth also enjoys having an impact on the company he works for. He appreciates the employee autonomy that is possible at AES Solar, and getting to have an active role in our direction and success.

When he’s not up on your roof or out in the wilds Seth likes working with his hands, and he can often be found tinkering and making, including building furniture. He also loves spending time with his favorite member of the next generation of Southern Illinois natives, his 6-year-old son Luca.
